Help Provide Health Care to NC Pets Who are Living in Tent Cities with Their Pet Parents!

A pet sitting colleague, Shannon Morrow, in NC shared the serious circumstances facing pet parents and their pets in North Carolina. It is definitely challenging but they are staying strong and trying to rebuild their lives.

She turned me on to Paws and Claws Aid which is a nonprofit group associated with the Paws and Claws Animal Hospital in Wilmington, NC. They are working to help local animals and their families who have lost their homes.

They are currently working in 3 target communities, in Leeland and Pender Counties, where families are living with their pets in tent cities due to very little habitable housing.

As you will recall, quite a bit of the area was under water from Florence. In fact, many of the rescue videos you have seen on my Facebook Page were from this area.

Right now, the Pet Food Bank is pretty well stocked with supplies, but they are currently in need of funding to purchase, at cost, heartworm tests, preventative medication, and topical treatments for fleas, ticks, and mosquitos.

They have a secure PayPal account where you can donate or you can send a gift via snail mail.
